This is the bin at the Dyffryn Services (Esso) filling station. It's faded and rotting. But it's also a strange reminder of a once prominent and ubiquitous industrial design that during the 1960s and 1970s you could see in almost every corner of the land: the Lister bin. The original internal metal removable component would once have been red. Dyffryn Services has added a lid (the originals were open in a time when no one seemed to worry about gulls swooping down on them).

It's frame is something of a survivor here in Rhuthun/Ruthin... but for how much longer?
