Guest Appearance

Darren Millar AM made an appearance at yesterday's town council to give a presentation. It is perhaps testament to Rhuthun/Ruthin and its town council that he actually had very little to say. He made mention of the 'appalling' decision to move the archive and the impact this would have on a visitor attraction and part of our heritage. He 'batted for the town council on the velodrome'.

Darren Millar at the town council: 'I once caught a fish THIS big'. Note the natty Christmas jumper

Indeed, he was complimentary towards the way in which the town council operated. It was forward-thinking and positive and he said that 'other town councils aren't like you'. He's more than likely right.

He did refer to the poor state of the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and the lackluster-at-best PISA results in education in Wales and how this affected investment and indeed the whole country. Cllr Emrys Wynne did, however, remind the meeting that Ysgol Brynhyfryd was among the top schools in Wales; that there was investment in two brand new primaries; and that BCUHB would be pumping money into Ysbyty Rhuthun next year. Millar agreed with the progress at Brynhyfryd.
