Newspaper and magazine sales are like a slowly deflating balloon. This is illustrated most profoundly by the number of newsagents in town. We currently have just one. 30 years ago, we enjoyed five. It also indicates where people now prefer to buy their paper: supermarkets.
It was therefore good to see an expanded magazine space for the Co-op, in the midst of a January to March 2019 revamp. This is in contrast to Castle Bell, a town centre store which struggles with its identity. (Yes, castle Bell delivers newspapers.)
