The town council's town team has repainted our avant garde benches. The pink metalwork wasn't to everyone's liking, admittedly, but they were in-keeping with the philosophy of the art trail that they were designed to complement and they represented an acceptable modern face that showed you could extend the boundaries even in a conservation area. Not everything in Rhuthun/Ruthin need be kept in aspic.
Admittedly, the benches had become careworn. The metal paintwork had faded and there was rust appearing. Now, though, they simply look miserable.
Treated are four benches on the Square and two on Market Street (opposite Wynnstay Road).
