Today's Free Press cover story on the possibility of four-weekly bin collections was very restrained. The online edition reads, "Councillors say Denbighshire residents are confused by bin changes". No invective, not like the way the Free Press reported charges for green bins.
The whole package deserves our support but, of course, the paper did pick the worst of it. The headline could've read "Recycled bins to be collected weekly with nappies, food and animal waste" or "Council saves £800,000 of our hard-earned money" (even though informed sources suggest this will be half that amount).
But none of that would've sold a single newspaper, would it.
