Odd This Wasn't Complete

Overheard today during the first day of Rhuthun/Ruthin's "spot the odd" half-term "treasure hunt" was a father with his two sons. They were struggling to find some of the "odds" in a couple of Rhuthun shop windows. Having found out from one shop that they had forgotten about it, in spite of the window bill (?!), he said that he could find nothing in a number of windows. Upon investigation neither could the Rhuthun/Ruthin Blog Team.

Said the father, this was "just typical of Rhuthun, wasn't it".

The Team couldn't find anything in Fineline or Miss B's. Sue Ryder had shut and had withdrawn (but were still on the list—we didn't know at the time). Creative Image simply forgot. The Spread Eagle Bookshop was listed but the proprietrix said she wasn't participating. The same applied to Hair and Beauty, Clwyd Street.

That said, here is an image of some of the more unusual or less obvious offerings. The best was Cavendish Ikin, whose advertisement for 1 & 2 Pear Tree Close, The Orchards resulted from a lot of effort on their part. The properties were "hand picked" and they urged buyers "not to get pipped to the post". Not shown is the green apple alongside a couple of green tennis balls in Harris Toys & Sports.

Clockwise from top left: Jan's Cards, Pet & Farm Place, Cwtch and Beresford Adams.
