Each week, the planning authority produces a list of new planning applications across the county. The first on yesterday's list was for the "Former HSBC 1 St Peter's Square Ruthin".

So, the bank's about to shut, then. The cat's out of the bag. Except it isn't. This was nothing other than a typo (unless the conspiracy theorists feel that it isn't). It nevertheless did send shivers down my spine. We all anticipate that the Rhuthun/Ruthin Midland Bank branch will close sooner or later (that's a given) and there were rumours that it could be this November. But, for now at any rate, the branch seems safe. In spite of what the planning lost suggests.
