It was perhaps an odd front page but today's Denbighshire Free Press features the planning application to turn The Venue into a storage facility. The report lacks detail. On page 3, there was a half-hearted attempt at journalism "as clubbers recall days when Venue was THE place..." by copying four of five comments from Facebook about the "good times". What good times? Certainly not for the residents of Prior Street or Canol y Dre and others in the town who complained about the associated anti-social behaviour. The Venue had a reputation for not policing itself. Said Cllr Bobby Feeley, "It was an unwelcome intrusion into people's lives".
