Sod the Traffic

The head of education, the leader of the county council, the mayor of Rhuthun town council, a builder, the chair of the county council, Cllr Huw Hilditch Roberts, Cllr Bobby Feeley and another builder with some of the infants and juniors of Rhos St a Phenbarras with over-sized hard hats and ill-fitting yellow jackets

The mayor of Rhuthun/Ruthin was at yesterday's sod breaking ceremony for the two new Rhuthun primary schools. Rhuthun town council had been critical of the new development because of concerns over traffic at the site at Glasdir. Presumably, the mayor's presence meant that the town council has now ironed out its objections to what is a fantastic opportunity for both Ysgolion Rhos Street a Phenbarras. Both schools are doing well. The teaching is more important than the buildings but it has to be said that the existing site is cramped, old and outdated. New facilities are likely to do nothing but improve the life chances of our youngsters.

 After the event, the fencing and two fence posts were left bare
