Planners have given permission to proceed to the £10½mil development of two brand new schools at Parc Glasdir. We have questioned whether its location was ideal, especially for those who live to the south east of Rhuthun/Ruthin and whose children are easily walked to Rhos Street. But whatever. You cannot sniff at £10½mil which will transform the education of around 400 children.
The only fly in an otherwise perfumed ointment was the town council which complained that the site was poor owing to the occasional parking of overspill vehicles at the Mart. They have a point but, first, where else would the schools go and secondly isn't it the parents' task to ensure their charges safely arrive and leave the site? Whatever happened to parental responsibility these days?
