The Head Biker

Reports from staff at Ysgol Brynhyfryd suggest that, apparently, when the new head was appointed there, he wasn't employed as the head of a secondary in Birkenhead, as was believed. He'd left. If true, presumably, the governors knew this. He was one of two candidates and by far the one they wanted. As for Birkenhead, no one knows why he had left.

The Brynhyfryd website shows no *forthcoming* events... but why use that hackneyed phrase "upcoming"?

Staff believe that the softly-spoken head can be anything but yielding when he needs to be. This is probably a Good Thing, given that the school needs direction.

Meanwhile, there's one similarity between the current head and the school's most famous one of recent years: they both like a cigarette. Staff at Brynhyfryd again report that the current head moves off-site to enjoy a cigarette or two. Obviously, he cannot smoke on the campus. His like of a ciggy is reminiscent of the late John Ambrose. Ambrose was a chain smoker but the difference was, in those days, he could light up outside on the playing fields or inside in his office (and he did).

Meanwhile, the new head turned up at school yesterday morning with a brand new 16-plate white pick-up truck. He can't be doing badly, then. This, apparently, is the second pick-up he owns. He also uses an older Land Rover Defender, a Peugeot 408 saloon and, rather interestingly for a head, a chopper motorcycle.
