A Loyal Subject

Colin Edwards is again exhibited some of his collection of personal English royal photographs. For nearly two weeks, as his personal tribute to the celebration of the royal 90th, he has about 100 photographs of the queen on show in St Peter's Church. I wouldn't pretend everyone in Rhuthun/Ruthin will identify with the English royal family but that shouldn't be an excuse to boycott the event. That's because some of the photos (e.g. the one above) are actually very different from those you usually see published of the queen: this one doesn't show the queen's expressions in a particularly good light; it isn't the most flattering.

The Blog Photographer has let me have a handful of Edwards' images here. Remarkably, Edwards has been taking photos of the royals since 1961 but especially during and since the 1980s. Everyone needs a hobby, I suppose.

Edwards's exhibition featured on BBC television yesterday morning. He's also selling copies of his £15 book for £10 as a special offer for the event. If he'll sign the book for you—and who can stop him—it'll be reduced to £5. Only joking, Colin Bach.

Below, here's Colin (the other one in the hat). When it comes to English royalty, he describes himself as 'ardent' and this picture certainly sums that up:
