Rhuthun/Ruthin post office re-opened this afternoon, after a 12-day refurbishment. The new office will be under sub-postmaster Huw Hilditch Roberts. It's had something of a makeover outside and in. Modern signage on the front conforms to the Post Office's brand guidelines but, although the change isn't massive, it does look a little garish. Within, it's been completely revised, though the counter stays in the only logical position, the current one. There's a greatly expanded range of greeting cards and stationery than previously, so Hilditch Roberts has used the space wisely. Although this will probably rankle a little with existing businesses, Siop Nain and Jan's Cards, they need to remember that the former proprietors did sell such things. Henceforward, the sub-post office will open from 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. six days a week.
