Corwen Carpets Update

August 2015

The story of Corwen Carpets continues. There is progress at the former Santander shop unit in town but only after a fashion.

May 2015

It was in May that Corwen Carpets secured the former Santander unit in Well Street. First, there was nothing in the former Santander but a couple of large dolls houses. Then came a mattress or two. All these were shipped out, followed by incoming carpet swatches, oddments and rolls, plus some large, untidy, hand-written signage (and these are now also down).

Window notice at Corwen Carpet's Lôn Parcwr premises: "If I am not here please phone me on... or visit me at new shop 27 Well Street opp Wynnstay Arms next to Chatwin's Bakery LL15 1AS. See map on door"

We now know, though, that the shop is still under preparation. Because of its small size, the business owner is having to juggle things to get it ready. This involves working around a rather heavy safe. There is yet no opening date but Corwen Carpets will continue with its presence on Lôn Parcwr, in its current (smaller) hanger.

A town centre shopfront is felt to be important, no doubt because of the number of carpet retailers already in town—Vale Carpets, Tasker's, Uptown and Castlemews Carpets. Castlemews has extended its floor area by using the rearmost unit as well as one of the two fronting Well Street.

Back to Corwen Carpets and the place had misted windows on and from August 24th.
