Philistine am I. The opulent leaflet on Edward Pugh reads, "Until very recently, the landscape artist Edward Pugh (1763-1813)... had been forgotten, even in his own town [of Rhuthun/Ruthin]". Well, I haven't forgotten him; I've barely heard of him. If I am indeed like many in Rhuthun, there's an exhibition that starts today in the Public Library plus, for those with an available £65, an equally opulent hardback is available. There's also Pugh-inspired exhibition in the Craft Centre. We can thank the enigmatic Edward Pugh Committee (wugh? who?) for their works in drawing (sic) our attention to one of Rhuthun's own.
