Plas Meddyg

Last month, Plas Meddyg doctors' surgery published the results of a survey into their performance. The actual survey itself dates back to February 2011. When benchmarked against surgeries in the region's Betsi Cadwaladr NHS Trust and also throughout Wales, it looks like Plas Meddyg has done rather well. Here are the results:

Able to get a consultation within 24 hours:
Plas Meddyg: 94%
Betsi Cadwaladr area: 91%
NHS Wales: 89%

Able to book an appointment 2 days ahead:
Plas Meddyg: 92%
Betsi Cadwaladr area: 78%
NHS Wales: 78%

Ease of getting through on phone (fairly or very satisfied):
Plas Meddyg: 95%
Betsi Cadwaladr area: 81%
NHS Wales: 81%

Ease of booking an appointment (fairly or very satisfied):
Plas Meddyg: 95%
Betsi Cadwaladr area: 86%
NHS Wales: 84%

In the light of the above, it would appear that Plas Meddyg is almost doing *too* well for, in spite of these higher scores when compared to regional and national results, there remains just a three per cent difference overall between the local surgery and the averages elsewhere.

Overall satisfaction (fairly or very satisfied):
Plas Meddyg: 96%
Betsi Cadwaladr area: 93%
NHS Wales: 93%

There's no mention of the Mount Street surgery, Rhuthun/Ruthin's smaller doctors.
