An Earlier Depression

Historians among us might like to know of news published on the web yesterday concerning a jeweller in Chester by the name of Rigby's. According to the report, the current proprietor Jason Rigby said, "We were originally founded in Ruthin, North Wales, in 1889. We moved here in 1919 and we’ve been here ever since". Times were just as hard then and after the First World War, following the economic consequences of funding the significant war effort, it would seem that the firm felt it had better prospects of survival in Chester than here. Would it still be trading were Rigby's to have stayed in Ruthin, I wonder.
