Rhyl Ruthin Week

Next week is Rhyl Week. But this week is Wythnos Ruthun Week. Our turn. It's like Rhyl Week without the sand and the seagulls. Both are designed to promote what's best in each respective Denbighshire town though Rhyl Week is a permanent fixture. Perhaps this will be so in future for Rhuthun. Let's hope so. May I have the temerity suggest as much?

This week is (or was) about celebrating people, place and potential. They've been events, some open to the public, some by invitation. You can guess the number of people writing this blog post who didn't get any invitations. Correct. Me. I know my place.

Has anyone been to any of the events to date? The open town council, for example, where you could meet the new mayor and councillors. The mayor has recently been installed (or whatever a council does to a new mayor. Might that be inducted?) plus we have three new councillors.

Sadly, Tuesday's and Thursday's events, in spite of being advertised in last week's newspaper, were by invitation only. But at least we see movement and optimism. But can someone let us know what happened?
