By-passing?

I wonder what traffic conditions will be like later today. At least *some* of those who travelled out on Good Friday will need to return. Others, of course, will do so in a week's time, on the spring bank holiday.

Good Friday saw incredible amounts of traffic heading south west through Rhuthun/Ruthin. Car after caravan after trailer after bike rack, in a constant stream. A late Easter, the promise of exceptional weather and a collision of bank holidays was enough to tempt thousands into Wales. It seemed that by the end of the day there was the real prospect of no one left in either the whole of Manchester or Merseyside.

First stop Y Bala, the first town in Eryri/Snowdonia, far enough away from home for a paned. A town with a hospitable atmosphere. One immediately after those frustrating queues, likely to be as far back as Corwen, at the confluence of the A5, A494, A5 and A5104.

How many bothered to stop in Rhuthun, though? Too few. It's possibly too close to the journey's start and is therefore probably overlooked, as visitors try to get nearer their ultimate destination. Not that there would've been much open in Rhuthun in any case. An opportunity lost? The question is, what to do? I fancy building a large wall across all roads leading south and west of Rhuthun...
