Testing... Testing... Testing

The more observant of you will have noticed that the lights atop Moel Famau have been tested on at least three evenings this week, between about 7 and 9 p.m. And pretty good they've looked, too. This is all in advance of Sunday's 200th jubilee tower anniversary.

Yesterday's was disappointing, though. Low cloud over Moel Famau resulted in the search light and lasers being mostly obscured. This is what will happen should the weather on Sunday, the official evening of celebration, turn foul.

But the good news is that, as I write this, the Rhuthun Weather forecast for the area on Sunday is clear. This will make all the difference in ensuring the expected 2,000 people crowd turn up. Nothing like rain to stop play. You're advised to wrap up warm, though. I suspect it will be below freezing at the top, much colder than in Rhuthun/Ruthin.

Park & ride signage went up yesterday. The county hall car park will be the place to park and a 20 minute bus service is promised, during the afternoon from 1.45, according to the official website.
