Raising Rhuthun's Profile

The Rhuthun/Ruthin Blog post on The Masterplan may well have been a local media exclusive. Haven't yet seen details of "Ruthin: market town of the future" in the Daily Post and it no doubt emerged too late for the local rags to pick it up, last week.

There's been plenty of radio exposure, though, on both Radio Cymru and Radio Wales. Whatever the results of the activity so far—under graduates casting a fresh eye over the townscape—it had better be good when the public gets to see the fruits of everyone's labour. Cancel your holidays. It's all coming out at the end of the month.

Said the Mayor on the radio yesterday, Rhuthun's a stunning and architecturally coherent town but you need to take care of it, or else it might loose its way, by neglect. The town needs "effort". Here are leftovers from "20th century interventions" that have been allowed to fester. The Masterplan is therefore a way of repairing the scars that have resulted from insensitive change to public spaces. It's about taking better care of the built environment we already have by raising aspirations towards something better.

As of this morning, there was still no activity of the Loved/Loathed section of the Visit Rhuthun website. To be as fully participatory as possible, the online element needs your support.
