As questions remain as to the future of one of Rhuthun/Ruthin's best known restaurants, workers were busily erecting new signs and banners on Thursday at Rhuthun's latest, the Clwyd Gate Inn.The Clwyd Gate bar and restaurant are now open, following a lengthy closure and an extensive winter refit and refurbishment. Part of Rhuthun's hospitality trade for decades, the venue offers a spectacular setting, with extensive views of Dyffryn Clwyd/Vale of Clwyd and Rhuthun. Just as at the Picture House, there's a promise of locally-sourced food and the Clwyd Gate’s operated by what is reputed to be one of Chester's finest restaurants. It's website mostly went live, yesterday.
