Two interesting comments recently on the large number of hairdressers in Rhuthun. One anonymous commenter put me right on the number in & immediately around town, at 14, plus four barbers. And, over the weekend, someone (tongue firmly in cheek) felt that the now closed Molyneux would make an excellent salon.
It was in mid-December that we wondered why Rhuthun enjoyed so many salons per ‘head’ of population. Now we learn that Creative Image is about to extend from its Well Street shop into the empty former Anrhegion, where Well Street turns towards St Peter’s Square.
Older readers will recall that Anrhegion/Rosie's housed the Co-op, a shop that extended quite some way back and one that dared to stay open to 8 p.m. Its fate was sealed upon the arrival in town of Lo-Cost 16 years ago. Lo-Cost, of course, became Co-op Pioneer and then just plain Co-op.
