Pink Update

I have updated the number of traders taking part in the pink window displays, following one email, one personal comment and my own observations. At its peak, the number reached 34 35 36. For some reason, Thresher’s took theirs down early. A small number have removed their displays, following the Ball.

Nelson’s put up a string of related photographs in its window. This included both women and men in pink, including in pink bras, and it caused a number of people to stop.

Was it a coincidence that the English Presbyterian Church is currently covered in pink netting, during its refurbishment?

One comment here asked us all to nominate the best window. No one has yet risen to that challenge but here are my own views.

Most humorous: jointly Beresford Adams & Blossoms, for their pink brassieres.

Most outrageous & eye-catching: Nelson’s, for its real Rhuthun people in various states of undress, both male and female.

Most stylish: Alton Murphy Opticians, Bizarre Fashions and Trefor Jones Menswear.

Most Pink: Jointly Nelson’s, Jan’s Cards and Gayla House Fashions.

Overall Winner: Jan’s Cards, because it was certainly very pink but also added the message about breast cancer.

Congratulations to all 34 35 traders for worked together in such a worthy and worthwhile way and, judging by comments left here, they have done themselves and the town a power of good.
