May 19, 20 and 21 will see Tesco in town, in a temporary recruitment centre at Lon Parcwr, as the first point of contact in hiring up to 200 full- and part-time personnel. Under the heading “Our great new Tesco store is almost ready – all we need is you”, Tesco is advertising for people with a “passion for delivering great customer service”. Many roles need no specific experience other than friendliness and shift flexibility.
Jobs are reported as "above the minimum wage". What about higher-salaried managerial jobs? Presumably, these will be imported. Will they even live and spend in Rhuthun/Ruthin?
Bang goes the town centre’s main unique selling point – a personal level of service.
It’s said around town that Tesco prefers to hire staff that currently do not work for existing supermarkets. Training will be in neighbouring Tesco stores.
