The North East Wales town of Treffynnon/Holywell's next in line in the region to see a Tesco store.
Developers have announced that a new 30,000 sq ft Tesco foodstore is a step closer, following a transfer of ownership of the proposed site.
The Teffynnon/Holywell Tesco is being hailed as a huge boost for the area and aims to prevent “leakage” from the town - to encourage people to stay in Holywell instead of shopping out of town in places like Yr Wyddgrug/Mold, which has an established and recently extended Tesco.
Tesco could also create 150 new jobs for Trefynnon/Holywell. Building work is unlikely to start until early next year. Treffynnon/Holywell already has a large Somerfield supermarket.
