Clwyd West Assembly member Alun Pugh said in the Free Press on Thursday "There are mixed feelings in the town over this [the granting of planning permission for a new Tesco]. Many residents will appreciate the hours the store will be open but I know that some small traders will have some real concerns.
"Ruthin has some fine shops providing high quality produce, much of it locally sourced, that supermarkets simply can't match. But there is bound to be some impact on their trade."
