Winning one 'hidden gem' award seems, well, disappointing... but thrice?
Yesterday's press release from Denbighshire council brags a little about the hidden gem awards conferred on Nantclwyd y Dre. Three times it has won.
But isn't being a 'hidden gem' three times over just a little bit of a setback or somehow a bit of a let down? It seems to suggest that the venue has never reached its potential. It gives the impression that few know of it and that the only acknowledgement it gets is three awards that recognise its own obscurity.
No longer is Nantclwyd y Dre the oldest known timber-framed residence in Wales. Events have overtake it
Admission charges apply but in a missed opportunity there's no mention of the savings you can make by parking on Saturday when car parks are free.
