Been There. Done That. (No T-shirts available.)

The sunshine and the prospect of doors flung open brought out the crowds on Saturday. There were some unexpected queues. The Old Gaol was free (a rare opportunity). Our oldest dated residence, Gorphwysfa, proved to be of much interest. Sunday, yesterday, was much more restrained.

Gorphwysfa aside, there was nothing new when compared to last year. It was virtually identical to 2022, even down to ‘The old pubs of Rhuthun/Ruthin' walk.

You'd think that Open Doors has run its course. It goes to show that there's still a vein that's tap-able.

How much more interesting would it be if some additional owners could be persuaded to unbolt their doors. More on Castle Street, perhaps. Some of our shops' first floors, perhaps. Other properties that have been recently dated. Crown House. Coetmor. The Olde Cross Keys. Properties on upper Mwrog Street. Capel Cwrw. Capel y Rhos. Ruthin School. The Castle Hotel. The police station. The town hall. Even county hall.

I would guess the impediment is actually the willingness of property owners to take part.

Why are there no Open Doors t-shirts, though? There are for the Festival :  )
