In parts, Rhuthun/Ruthin is quite literally rotting away. Walk down Well Street and in places building after building is looking a little tatty.
What does this tell us?
If the proprietor owns the property then it suggests that there is insufficient income to maintain it. If it's rented, might it suggest that income cannot cover any increase in rent for such maintenance.
Either way, this is a symptom of the new reality: internet shopping and reduced disposable incomes thanks to the cost of living. This results in footfall dramatically down and businesses struggling.
