A Facebook Irony

This outside the Old Gaol caught me by surprise. It seemed like a consultation session for the pending levelling up funding. Unfortunately, as I'd not realised it was on, it wasn't convenient to call. Just when and where did the notice for this event get posted? Probably somewhere on Facebook... 

But it's good to see some activity as regards levelling up. To date, it's all gone quiet and there's been little if any evidence of anything going on.

My guess is that those who engaged today were likely to be supportive and offer positive ideas. It's only when the spades go into the ground that the criticism starts and we see all the pre-scheme consultation turned on its head just because of the vociferousness few on Facebook. Woe betide anyone who tries to swim against that particular tide. 

Forget consultation. These days, it's a referendum by Facebook.
