New Clothes—again

This morning...

We're getting used to the chameleon-like transformation of Bridge Services. Overnight, our BP petrol filling station at Bridge Services transformed back into a Texaco.

It was in 2018 that it went from Texaco to BP. Then, it took several days, and the forecourt and shop was shut. Now, the transformation happened overnight.

... and in 2018, after and before

Behind the move to Texaco is believed to be the divestment of 121 of MFG's filling stations to appease the Competitions and Markets Authority and ensure that there's no detailed CMA investigation of MFG. This follows the purchase by MFG's owner of the Morrison's filling station brand this time last year.

The new operator is SGN Retail also known as D Retail, both of Essex, England. As part of the change, previously a Londis, the shop has now become part of the Nisa Retail Ltd, a convenience franchise brand which is actually owned by the Co-op. Hence the sign, below, 'Co-op food now sold here'. In a sense, the Co-op returns to convenience retail in Rhuthun (it used to operate Porth y Dre stores).
