Delivered yesterday to The Old Courthouse were several hundred leaflets on Rhuthun/Ruthin's timber heritage. Opulently designed by Headland in Chester, they mirror the existing orange town trail leaflet. We currently therefore have the following trails:
- The new Rhuthun Shaped by Timber heritage trail
- The Denbighshiire county council town trail
- The art trail and
- The green plaque trail (if you can find it)
The Shaped by Timber trail is the tangible product of the recent house tree ring dating project. There's actually little cross-over between this and the town trail. Shaped by Timber looks more at ordinary houses. But wouldn't it be great if all four trails (or the three heritage-themed trails) could find their way into one document.
Missing from Shaped by Timber is Gorphwysfa, the oldest dated timber framed building of all, older even than Nantclwyd y Dre.
