Last Cut is the Deepest

The end of the summer and this week the county council's been out cutting the bee friendly meadows, verges and grasslands after another sparkling spring and early summer of gorgeous colour and spectacle. After the cut, the 2022 drought is all the more evident.

Is it me, though, or is there slightly less acreage this year (e.g. Park Road hardly has any wild area). On the other hand, we've noticed a new bee friendly verge this year and that is by the Smithy, Llanbedr, above. It's on the A494 trunk road but unusually the verge itself is actually managed by Llanbedr community council. Let's hope more community councils take a lead from them.

A smaller area at Park Road, this year?
