Rhos Street: More

There's more to say on the former Rhos Street school planning application

The site is already looking tatty. Is this it's future?

All those who object to the loss of the building cannot give a viable answer to the question, 'What on earth can we do with the building?' Without a sustainable use for the site, it's doomed to a lingering death. It'll become a liability. The county council would be stuck with it. We need to avoid another redundant building. We also mustn't forget that there's been more vandalism on the site than on redundant properties in Rhyl. This thanks to Ysgol Brynhyfryd-aged youth.

The building itself isn't suitable for a conversion to flats (so we're told: is that really the case?). The window lines are too high and the levels too low. The room sizes are too big.

When you consider the site as a whole, there's been a good mix of uses for it. Part was converted to allow the expansion of Ruthin hospital, improve access and build a car park. Part has seen the creation of an open space. The remainder it's assumed can go to housing.
