Hole in the Wall

Work began on at Yr Hen Lys this morning in creating a hole in the wall, in the very place where the Nat West bank had... a hole in the wall otherwise known as a cash machine.

The space is for a video screen that will broadcast events and happenings concerning the town council and where space permits other matters. Who knows, perhaps we can promote this blog (we doubt that'll be the case, though).

Also changed is the entrance door. Two panels of the left hand entrance door have been detached and sympathetically re-attached to that on the right, allowing for a single door as a wider entrance. There's also a bit of a paint up.

Finally, removed at the time of the town council refurbishment, this plaque we understand will be re-erected soon, possibly even next month. It's a moot point as to whether the town was torched, though it certainly came under siege. It's said that Dafydd Iwan unveiled the plaque in 2000 and he is, of course, back for this summer's Festival.

And, here's Yr Hen Lys at the point where the Nat West had just moved out. The plaque is circled in red to the left; and the former cash machine to the right.
