Eunice Leaves us Alone

The is a sense that we got away with it. The 'worst storm for three decades' caused few problems. It was due at about 5 a.m. but it only really began to get rough after about 11 a.m. We're not aware of any significant damage. There was no flooding. The ground around Cae Ddol was nevertheless very saturated, as these pictures tell, and the Clwyd very full.

Traffic and pedestrians were far fewer during the morning. It seems people largely had heeded warnings to stay in. Schools in Denbighshire closed but the Rhuthun/Ruthin cluster had a training day anyway and were therefore closed to pupils whether on site or online.

Meanwhile, the repairs to the Cunning Green wall, brought down by a previous storm  in November 2021, stood up valiantly to Eunice.
