With the removal of scaffolding supporting the refurbishment of the adjacent house, today sees the first full day of a footpath from Rhos Street to the hospital. It runs along the outer boundary of the former Rhos Street school. Using the path to get to the hospital, when you currently reach the new hospital car park, pedestrians have to walk down the access, along Llanrhydd and then up the main egress. If that seems a waste of time, at least it avoids a walk along the busy A494 and Anchor Corner. When the new Mount Street is complete, access to the hospital will be more direct.
The path will upon up access to the new surgery and the hospital itself from Haulfryn and the estates off Rhos Street.
