What a Mess

Let me make it clear. This morning, Rhuthun/Ruthin is not knee deep in litter. To suggest otherwise would be an exaggeration of sizeable proportions. But, for the first time since lockdown, there's suddenly an overnight mess in town. And all this without pubs open.

And it wasn't just me who noticed the difference. The street cleanser out early this morning did too. He said that he'd gotten used to a much lower—trifling—amount of litter and that this morning's mess came as a surprise.

It looks like we've learnt nothing from lockdown and we're back to our old ways. The town centre was busier last night, too, and there was much more noise than usual. But "busier" was when compared to the low base of lockdown. With fortitude, four takeaways were open till 11.30p.m. (these being Keebab & Burger, its next door neighbour and Charcol Grill, Well Street; and the pizza place, Clwyd Street). And there were two Roberto taxis and Davey's own vehicle, touting for what limited trade there actually was.
