The language of the beauty industry is interesting. They talk of "treatments", a term that normally belonging within a surgeon's operating theatre. Yet, their technicians are "lash artists" which alongside the creative side of things also suggests a kind of unskilled clumsiness that can only appreciated by those in the know.
