An email this afternoon advises us that Denbighshire intends to restart its green waste service week beginning May 18th. Hurrah for that! The email was signed 'Kind Regards'.
So, that's the good news. Now the less good news. Most of Rhuthun/Ruthin gets its collections on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Some of those on Wednesdays if not Tuesdays will put their green bin out on the next available date after May 18th... which is May 27th... or nearly June. The last green bin collection for these folk was March 18th. That was a whole season away.
There's quite a backlog building up. My guess is that two slaps at the rear of a bin wagon will not be enough to free the compacted, smelly, partly-composted matter within each green bin...
