This new posted limit at Llanfair DC seems odd. Why convert the advisory 20 mph speed into a mandatory one... when the school has less than three months of life left.
That's what's happened—or seems to have. From the Rhuthun/Ruthin to Llysfasi direction, the previously black-rimmed advisory lollipop now has a red ring around it. Whereas before you could ignore it, now you shouldn't. There was no evidence of any vehicle sticking to the now compulsory 20 mph limit when we were present taking photos.
In fact, we can reveal that the council has erroneously replaced a black- with a red-rimmed sign. At least it wasn't the other way round.
When over three years ago the black signs went up, we did wonder whether whether it would work. We continue to see no evidence of it doing so.
