New Christmas Card Designs

Two new Christmas card designs are available this season...

Bells of St Peter's

What a good idea—and a new design and alternative to the Bailey Christmas cards is much needed and welcomed. On sale now are these A5-sized Christmas cards featuring the new bells of St Peter's. They're available from the promoter and the appropriately-named Castle Bell Newsagents, where the Hardinges are taking zero commission (and, who knows, maybe other outlets), with proceeds to the Rotary charities and to St Peter's itself. £5 for six. The front photo features a bell inscribed "Joseph Peers, esq, Mayor"

Available soon from Siop Elfair and, no doubt, other locations, is this unique card by 104-year-old Betty Watson, well known Trem y Foel resident. It's sold to help raise money for the Urdd Eisteddfod of 2020, which is coming to Sir Ddinbych. Painted by Betty in her late 70s or early 80s, while in the vicinity of the football pitches, it's been adapted to look seasonal with a frozen patina.

But there's an incredible story behind the card. Betty attended the first ever Urdd Eisteddfod in 1929, in Corwen and, 80 years later, is fundraising for it. Betty is no stranger to collecting for charity and has raised thousands for the air ambulance.
