What has Dinbych got that Rhuthun/Ruthin hasn't? For one thing, a Big Issue salesperson. Appeared over the summer was Dyffryn Clwyd's first seller, a man whose patch was outside Co-op Dinbych. Without a break in continuity, there's now a very pleasant woman there every week. To date, there's only been sellers in Wrecsam (at the turn of the century, the cheerful, whistling man with the long beard at springs to mind), Rhyl and even for the last eight years, Prestatyn.
We should be grateful that we have no obvious homeless problem in Rhuthun… unless you know differently.
And another thing is a laundrette. Dinbych has one near the site of the former Panton Hall (not that it was much of a hall). Rhuthun's had closed by the late 1990s (it was in the space now occupied by Uptown Furnishing, opposite Bridge Services) so it's been more than 15 years since we've had a call for one.
