New Town Trail

They've redesigned the Rhuthun/Ruthin town trail, they have. That would be the county council. We're not sure when they did this. I only discovered the new look trail leaflet today. The Discover Denbighshire website still features the old style productions (e.g. "Explore Rhuthun").

And we rate the new leaflet very highly. Rhuthun is not just a town to be seen, it's to be found, unearthed, discerned. This document expresses the essence of Rhuthun in a very compact form. We like:

✓ The fresh, uncluttered, modern design (streets ahead of the previous iteration)

✓ That it gives a taster of Rhuthun

✓ The way in which the leaflet features the key points about Rhuthun—10 of them in all

✓ The words that express the very quintessence of Rhuthun

✓ The fact that Rhuthun features strongly on the rears of each of the other county town trails

✓ The reference to the art trail and the Wiki Town project.
"... all the streets seem to lead back to hilltop St Peter's Square—surely one of Britain's loveliest market places... something to do with the sudden spectacular views of surrounding countryside... a real market town that's still buzzing in the 21st century"
But not on a Saturday afternoon : )

The former Explore Rhuthun leaflet

What we like least is that fact that a decluttered leaflet necessarily has to leave so much out. When compared to the former "Explore..." leaflet, there are gaps. That must be by design, to appeal to a modern culture that prefers soundbites over substance. But even here we need not worry, as the free of charge Slow Walks around Rhuthun fits the bill... if only this were advertised within the town trail itself.
