Appeared in today's Daily Post were five of Rhuthun/Ruthin's St John Ambulance volunteers. They each made comment on how people could benefit from joining. Phrases such as "new skills" and "meeting new people & friends" featured strongly.

There's no denying that Rhuthun St John's has been through something of a turbulent time. The retirement followed shortly in spring 2013 of the untimely death of long-serving leader Vi Hughes caused something of a vacuum. Tracey Lewis of Llanfwrog Urban took over but her promotion proved unpopular among factions within the brigade. Tracey subsequently left for the Y Rhyl branch of St John's.

It's taken a while but numbers are again growing at St John's Rhuthun. Badgers (pre-cadets) and Cadets are doing well and they've even attracted some new adult volunteers.

Ruthinians will know Margaret (second left) who works in the dentist and Gethin (second right). Cathy (far left) works in Schola Ruthinensis and as Vi's daughter continues the St John family tradition.
