Limiting Speed—part 2

Referring to the possibility of a 40 mph on the A542 over the Bwlch yr Oernant/Horseshoe Pass, a council press statement said,
"A countywide speed limit review had identified a 40mph limit [on the A542], which would likely be implemented in early 2015"
Countywide? There's obviously more to come. Where else might we anticipate limits where currently there are none?

Here's the Rhuthun Blog predictions for 2015 and beyond. Pure speculation but you know it makes sense:
  • The A525 south and east of Rhuthun. Expect Llysfasi crossroads to the top of the Nant y Garth to be limited to 40 mph. Motorists are lulled into a sense of false safety by visibility along the straight that happens to cut right across a crossroads.
  • The A525 top of Nant y Garth to Four Crosses (Moors Inn). This will become 50 mph to adjoin the new limit imposed by Wrecsam council at the Denbighshire boundary. Thereafter, in Wrecsam borough, the old road already becomes 40 then 30 where once it was set at the national speed limit. During its early stretch, this is where idiot motorists overtake legal drivers. 30's fine as the Old Road narrows but it's ill-matched for the rest of the road from Y Gegin south to Five Crosses, the starting point of the previous 30 mph limit.
  • The A525 north of Rhuthun. Rhewl got its 40 mph nearly 20 years ago but the twists and turns of the remainder, between Rhewl and Llanrhaeadr, will see a 50 or more probably 40 mph limit imposed, in time. Expect Pentre Llanrhaeadr to be cut from 40 to 30.
  • The A525 north of Llanewly/St Asaph. This piece of dual carriageway remains at the national speed limit of 70 mph but there's talk of a required barrier down the central reservation which, in turn, is likely to reduce forward visibility such that an inevitable 50 mph limit will result. The chances of motorists sticking to that speed are remote, at best.
  • The A494 Ruthin to Llanbedr and Llanbedr to the B5430 junction for Llanarmon yn Iâl, at Plymog. This will become 40 mph throughout.
  • The B4530 from Plymog (A494) to Rhydtalog and Four Crosses. 40 mph.
  • The B5105 Rhuthun to Cerrigydrudion. Like the Horseshoe Pass, this is another summer bikers' paradise. It will see the imposition of a standard 50 mph limit. Will bikers adhere to that?
