Co-op Personae

1992—Lo-cost opened.
1994—Lo-cost's owners Argyll taken over by Co-op
c.1996—Lo-cost becomes Co-op Pioneer
c. 1999—Co-op Pioneer rebrands as Co-op Rhuthun
2009—latest rebrand as The Co-operative Bwyd (yes, English & Welsh)

Previusly, its strapline was "We go further so you don't have to" but, at the time, the Co-op's strapline became "Good with Food". Somehow, given that they sandwiched The Co-operative in English with Bwyd in Welsh, I always felt it might have adopted the Wenglish slogan,

Now, we hear that Gwyd with Bwyd is to be replaced by "Here for You for Life". A bit of a mouthful. Nothing seems to stand still at the Co-op. Perhaps a case of "Here we go again".

Update: as of January 2014, it became "A good deal for you"
