Town & Around

A neighbour rushed round yesterday evening and breathlessly thrust at me a copy of O Gwmpas y Dre/Ruthin Town & Around, the newsletter of Cymdeithas Ddinesig Rhuthun a’r Cylch/Ruthin Civic Association. Neither of us could quite believe that inside was a whole page dedicated to the Rhuthun/Ruthin Blog! This is the second time I’ve found myself within, only last time it took two months to reach me.

“Transmission ceased in June [technically February] and we thought that was that. But the Ruthin Blog resumed on 28th September. Reports of its death were widely exaggerated”.

In the article, the Civic Association’s Derek Jones picked out some recent blogposts as (presumably) noteworthy: the improvement in shop unit take-up; the state of the former Rhuthun Carpets & adjacent property; the local development plan; and sponsorship of roundabouts. All either have been treated by the Association or could be, according to Jones. The article implies that this blog is somewhat sympathetic to the values & aspirations of the association. I trust that the association is a good thing with which to align, rather than not.

Jones finishes very nicely with the words, “Want to be one of Non Liquet’s regulars? Simply Google ‘Ruthin Blog’ and get hooked”.

Thank you to the editors (whoever you are) of Town & About. And, with your newsletter, for providing some useful fodder for future blogposts here on this very site...
