News from Nantclwyd

Like the town itself, Nantclwyd y Dre wasn’t really busy last Saturday morning. It was open for mulled wine & mince pies or, if you persisted a little, a coffee. It was just the ground floor that the friends of Nantclwyd y Dre opened and not the entire house. Even so, this will be the last public viewing of Nantclwyd y Dre till its seasonal reopening, in March 2010.

When it opens in March, it’s possible that it will be available for an additional day. Last season, Nantclwyd y Dre opened Thursday to Saturday inclusive. Speculation is that this will possibly extend to include Wednesdays.

If, however, you can’t wait till the Spring, it’s still possible to get more than a glimpse of Nantclwyd y Dre. Hire the house for your social activity, wedding reception or fund raising event. With its portrayal of seven ages, what better location but beware, it ain’t cheap. There’s also talk that the venue might soon be available for marriage ceremonies.
